Peter reminds us that as Christians we will endure a time of suffering, but its ultimate end will be eternal glory.
- We Are A Saved People (Ch. 1) – a salvation planned by God (v2), prophesied in the OT (v10-12), preached by the apostles (v12), purchased with the blood of Christ (v18-19), and predicated upon obedience (v22-23).
- We Are A Separated People (Ch. 2) – by birth (1:23), faith (2:7), and behavior (v2:11), a special people of God!
- We Are A Submissive People (Ch. 3) – submissive in mar-riage (v1-7), in conduct (v8-17), and in seeking the salvation of others while suffering (v18-22).
- We Are A Suffering People (Ch. 4) – such can be expected (v1-6), made easier (v7-11), and be endured (v13-19).
- We Are A Steadfast People (Ch. 5) – we need strong lead-ership (v1-4), loyalty to truth (v9), and sincere love (v10-14)
