Jesus Sees (Revelation 2-3)
To the church in a time of persecution and hardships, they needed to be reminded that Jesus saw. He saw their troubles and He saw how they were living…hopefully this would encourage some and awaken others.

- What we are doing—either good or bad (1:12-14, 2:1-2, 9, 13, 19, 23, 3:1, 8, 14-15; 22:13; Heb. 4:12-13) .
- How we are doing—problems/persecution as well as prosperity/success (2:2-3, 9-10, 13-15, 19-25, 3:4, 10, 15-18; 1 Pet. 5:7-10).
- What we need-relief/support in hard times as well as shortcomings we face (2:3-4, 7, 10-11, 16, 24-26, 3:2-3, 10, 17-19; 1 Cor. 10:13, Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:25-34, 10:29-31).
- What Jesus Wants To See
- Praises toil and patience (2:2-3; Heb. 6:12, 12:1-2)
- Encourages steadfastness (2:7, 10-11, 13, 17, 24-26, 3:5, 11-12, 20-21; 1 Cor. 15:58, Col. 2:6-7).
- Compliments faithfulness (2:19, 3:4, 8, 10; Col. 1:3-4)
- What Jesus Hates To See
- Chastens deserters (2:4-5; 2 Tim. 4:10; 2 Pet. 2:20-22)
- Rebukes false teachers & supporters (2:6, 14-16, 20-23; Rom. 16:17; Titus 1:10-11; 2 Pet. 2:1-19)
- Admonishes shortcomings (3:1-3; Gal. 5:7; Heb. 4:1)
- Sickened by apathy (3:15-16, 19; Titus 2:14; Eph. 2:10)
- What Does Jesus See In Us?
- Where would we be placed among these Christians?
- Will we be as those who will hear what He has to say? (2:7, 11, 17, 29, 6, 13, 22; Matt. 7:24-27, 13:13-17; 2 Cor. 13:5; James 2:22).
