Junior-Senior Banquet

Every year we offer our High School Juniors and Seniors an alternative to the prom. We believe this is important--not because they would attend the prom in the first place, but to give them an opportunity to dress up and enjoy a big event that has a Christian environment rather than what the prom offers. Therefore, members of the congregation give money to help pay for the expenses for all that the group does each year (instead of coming from the church treasury, which is reserved for specifically spiritual activities and works).

Our volunteer coordinators have been very creative in the past several years finding fun things to do and places to go that makes the event so special. In alternating years the group takes a local one day trip to the Metroplex or a two day trip somewhere else (like San Antonio). The youth are completely chaperoned at all times, ensuring their safety and eliminating even the appearance or opportunity for impropriety.

This year the youth went to eat at the Opus restaurant before attending a performance of the Dallas Symphony.
